The Punto Avventura is Fiat’s take on the crossover style hatchback and we must say that after the efforts we have seen in the Indian automobile market in this segment the Avventura is a fairly impressive concept. While it retains the basic shape of the Punto hatchback with all the panels nearly intact the Avventura gets a bold new front bumper with a blacked out grille while the lower section of the bumper has large air intakes on either side with what appears to be daytime running LED lights and a funky design for the lower air dam with three separate air intakes with two orange tow hooks located below them. And those large new headlamps are very good looking indeed.
The side profile of the car gets a blacked out window line, black door handles and black plastic cladding over the doors, wheel arches and rocker panel with Avventura badges on the door cladding.
Around the back the Punto Avventura gets new clear lens tail lights, a chunky black rear bumper and the spare wheel is mounted on a swivel hinge that can has to be swung open before opening the doors. Completing the exterior make over is a rear spoiler and functional roof rails.
Inside, the Fiat Punto Avventura gets a black dashboard with sleek orange inserts to liven it up. The door pads and seats get beige sections. On the equipment front the Punto Avventura will come similarly specced as the the top end Emotion trim of the Fiat Punto and will come loaded with safety features as well. The only extra equipment on the Avventura are the compass and pitch roll gauges mounted above the centre air vents.
Under the skin, the Fiat Punto Avventura gets a raised suspension setup that gives it more ground clearance than the Punto and it even comes fitted with skid plates to protect the underbody over poor road surfaces.
On the engine front, expect the Fiat Punto Avventura to be powered by the company’s famed 1.3 litre four cylinder multijet turbo diesel engine developing 93PS of power @ 4,000 rpm and 209Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm.
Expect the Fiat Punto Avventura to be priced at around Rs. 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
