Skoda has done a great job with the new Yeti and it brings many excellent features. It was recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is expected to be coming our way in the July to September quarter. The new Yeti looks bolder than ever before. The facelifted front end looks more radical and sportier than its predecessor. The chromed grille has vertical slats and the rectangular headlamps bring optional bi-xenon and LED day time running lamps. The rear has been well executed and features a c-pattern wrap around tail lamp cluster and twin exhausts along with a revamped tail gate. The new Yeti also brings a new alloy wheel design and exterior color options.
The interiors also bring many new features such as a powerful stereo, improved seat fabric and interior trims. It has an automatic parallel parking system and a rear-view camera. It is expected to come with the same diesel and engine configuration but it might include the 2.0 litre TDI 168 BHP diesel engine in a six speed dual clutch DSG automatic transmission. The 103 bhp 1.6 liter petrol engine may come with a DSG automatic transmission.
VW has been working on a new 1.5 liter diesel engine which is expected to come in a new variant of the Polo. We can expect to see this engine in the new Skoda Yeti as well, although in a higher state of tune. The Yeti has excellent styling and it was a great vehicle to drive with a car like handling and feel. 2014 will see many exciting cars coming into the country including the likes of the new Skoda Yeti.
