Bidding for PM Narendra Modi’s controversial pin-striped bandhgala suit intensified today with a diamond trader Hitesh Patel making making a bid of Rs 2.85 crore to purchase the suit that Modi wore during US President Barack Obama’s visit to India last month.
There has been a scramble to claim the suit with bids builders, diamond traders and other businessmen going higher on the third and final day of the auction here today as several bidders making offers of around Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 2.80 crore. Hitesh Patel of Dharmanandan Diamonds made a whopping Rs 2.89 crore bid for it, according to latest reports.
Earlier in the morning, a Surat businessman, Jayantibhai Itrela, bid Rs 1.95 crore, which immediately topped by Rajesh Jain, owner of an engineering firm in Haryana, with a bid of R1.85 crore and an NRI businessman Chandresh Ojha with R 1.95 crore to purchase the controversial suit that Modi wore during US President Barack Obama’s visit to India last month.
Rising thick and fast, the bidding for the ‘infamous’ Narendra Modi suit is being ratcheted up handsomely.
